[P] Contact form

The contact form section allows your customers to reach you by email. Having at least one contact form in your store is a great way to build trust.

Our theme allows you to create a standalone contact page (learn more) but also add a contact form anywhere, including on the home page or product page.

Adding the section

To add this section, open the theme editor, click Add section, and select the Contact form section.

Adding custom fields

The contact form section supports adding text and dropdown custom fields (beyond the standards name, email, and message fields).

Custom fields can be used for a wide range of use cases, allowing you to answer your customers' inquiries more efficiently.

To add custom fields, add the section onto your page, and click on "Add block" and select either "Text field" or "Dropdown" (text field allows your customers to enter arbitrary text, while dropdown restricts the choices to a list of options you define yourself):

It is not possible to have fields that are pre-populated with a given value (for instance, a field automatically populated with a product name). You'll need to hire a developer to do this.

Section guidelines

Do

  • Add at least one contact form on your website to build trust using the dedicated contact page.
  • If your products are complex to understand, consider adding an extra contact form section on your product pages. This will make it easier for your customers to reach you, and reduce friction.

Don't

  • Don't add more than one contact form on a given page. Shopify doesn't play nice with that.
  • Don't add too many custom fields for a given form. Forms being too complex to fill can cause user frustration.
